  1. Dosage of Ashwagandha is very much important to get desired results and to avoid side effects. Depending on various factors like Age, Sex, and nature of illness, Dosage do vary from individual to individual. The duration of the medicine intake is also does matter.

Suppose if i get a pediatric patient, let us say, he/she is about 16 years, in both male and females we need to ascertain their general health condition and other factors and need for use of Ashwagandha Churna. If Ashwagandha Churna is indicated for such kind of teenagers, The dosage will be minimum with milk for limited time period. Here For children Ashwagandha is mainly indicated for nourishing purpose and also for memory booster. So, we will take care of dosage. Usually dosage would be 4 grams once daily with milk.

Similarly, in adult female if particular patient needs to increase weight, definitely Ashwagandha is helpful along with other medications and in such conditions we can suggest her to consume 5 grams of Ashwagandha churna along with milk.

In males who want to improve sperm count or if they are having any sperm issues, then Ashwagandha along with Kapikachu, can be given with milk and the dosage of ashwagandha alone would be 7 grams twice daily with milk.

So, for long term usage, it is better to consult doctor.

  2. As mentioned here, dosage is the prime factor which decides the outcome of an ayurvedic medicine. The dosage however varies between patients as it depends on several factors such as age, sex, location, body nature etc. In society generally it is a myth that ayurvedic products which are purely herbal can be taken in any dosage and will not cause any harm to the body. This thought is not true as the herbs used are potent and their excessive dosage can cause untoward effect to the body. In certain patients i have found that this medicine is required in more dose than the average one to achieve the expected result. In public it is a general practice that once an ayurvedic medicine is not seen to produce the expected result , patient changes dosage on his/her own will which can cause unwanted outcome. Thus always make sure that you take the correct dosage of this medicine at the right time.

  3. The right dosage and taking the medicines for the prescribed time plays an important role in the effect of Aswagandha churnam. The dosage is decided after considering the symptoms of the patient. It is usually prescribed for youngsters, adults and old people. If the condition is chronic, it can be given in the dose of 5g with milk or warm water once daily. It can be taken with breaks in chronic conditions. In acute conditions, it can be given as 5g with milk or warm water twice daily after food for 3months. The adjuvant with which it is taken is also important. To gain weight it can be taken with milk twice daily and to reduce weight it can be taken with warm water twice daily for 3months and then taken with breaks depending on the necessity. Therefore it is necessary to make some lifestyle changes to reduce taking medicines continously.
