Ashwagandha Churna Ingredients

Ashwagandha churna is the powdered form of the well researched herb Withania somnifera. It is commonly known as Indian Ginseng or Winter cherry. Ashwagandha is one of those herbs in ayurveda which comes as a part of several major formulations. It is seen commonly as a part of those medicines which act as stress relievers. Roots of this plant is the part which is used for the preparation of this medicine. It is composed of several alkaloids. The chief among them are Isopelleteriene, Anapherine, Anahygreine, Somniferin, lactones etc. As per ayurveda this medicine is seen to clear all issues which is caused by aggravated vata and kapha dosha and has practically no effect on pitta dosha.This herb causes no side effects when taken in correct dosage. However excessive dosage is seen to cause issues such as abortion in pregnant women, vomiting, nausea and diarrhoea.This medicine is found helpful in overcoming skin condition such as vitiligo, inflammatory conditions and emaciation.This herb is an excellent aphrodisiac and is found helpful in resolving several sexual problems as well.

  1. There are many scientific studies carried on Ashwagandha on various pharmacological actions and properties on various health issues. If it comes to Adaptogenic and Antistress effect, Ashwanganda is very much helpful and even it is found that Ashwagandha is helpful in treating stress induced gastric ulcers, and hepatotoxicity, similarly due to its adaptogenic properties, Ashwagandha is very much helpful in treating premature ageing, Arthritis, diabetes, and even in few malignant conditions.

    Studies show that it is even effective in neurodegenerative diseases like parkinson's, alzheimer's diseases.

    Ashwagandha is having Anti Inflammatory effect due to withaferin which is also helpful in treating various inflammations.

    Due to presence of prostagalndins, ashwagandha churna do having analgesic effects and it is best used in Anti-arthritic effects also.

    There are many phytochemicals in Ashwagandha or Withania Sominifera that include alkaloids, steroidal lactones, saponines, sitoindosides, Withaferoin A which are all helpful for various indications.
